The world is facing overwhelming evidence of global warming and other climatic changes. Public concern grows not only with pollution but also with urban congestion with road transport accounting for more than one-third of global air pollution.

Tesla will be introducing newly designed all-composite lightweight city buses and light rail vehicles. These buses will incorporate leading-edge electric, hybrid electric and fuel-cell power-trains with advanced energy storage including super-capacitors. Like all Tesla vehicles the design is focused on greatly reducing energy consumption, day-to-day maintenance and both operational and capital costs. Tesla vehicles will also help strategically reduce dependence on oil-based energy sources.
